Post-Prostatectomy Incontinence Masterclass
An exciting new addition to the program this year is the Post-Prostatectomy Incontinence (PPI) Masterclass. This masterclass will explore incontinence after radical prostatectomy from a multidisciplinary perspective. Delegates can expect an outstanding program exploring best practice prevention and management of PPI. Our expert faculty includes world-class surgeons, doctors, pelvic floor physiotherapists, urology and continence nurses and psychologists.
TOPICS COVERED INCLUDE:
- Surgical and medical management of PPI including Urodynamics and slings
- Functional anatomy of the male continence mechanism
- Radical prostatectomy from the surgeons’ perspective for preservation of continence
- Best practice pre- and post-operative management from a nursing and physiotherapy perspective
- Red flags: what to look out for after surgery
- Transperineal ultrasound for pelvic floor muscle assessment and training
- Best practice pelvic floor muscle training
- Latest advances in catheter management
- Skin care, aids and containment for the incontinent male patient
- Psychological impact of PPI
OUR EXPERT FACULTY INCLUDES:
Mr Daniel Moon
Urologist, Director of Robotics, Epworth Healthcare, Melbourne
Dr Daniel Moon is the Director of Robotic Surgery at Epworth Healthcare and an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at The University of Melbourne and Monash University. He has performed over 1000 major laparoscopic +/- robotic procedures, published the first Australian series of laparoscopic radical prostatectomy in 2008, performed the first Australian robotic cysto-prostatectomy in 2009, published the largest Australian pyeloplasty series in 2011, and established a robotic partial nephrectomy program at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, publishing the first Australian series of this procedure in 2014.
Dr Moon has also developed a high volume urological prosthetics practice, restoring continence and potency in men following prostate cancer treatment. He has published the largest Australian series of both artificial urinary sphincter insertion in 2014, and suburethral male slings in 2017.
Dr Patricia Neumann
Specialist Women’s, Men’s & Pelvic Health Physiotherapist, Director of Physiotherapy Services at South Terrace Urology, Adelaide

Mr Ryan Stafford
Research Fellow, University of Queensland
Ryan Stafford is a research fellow at The University of Queensland with a special interest in men’s and women’s health. The aim of this research is to improve understanding and treatment of pelvic floor disorders including post-prostatectomy incontinence.
Mr Peter Sutherland
Urologist, Royal Hospital, Adelaide
Dr Peter Sutherland has close to thirty years experience in Urological practice. His particular areas of interest are erectile dysfunction and prostate cancer. Dr Sutherland was instrumental in leading the first surgical team to introduce robotic radical prostatectomy into the Australian public health system.
